Warning to all Rotarians this summer! No more nude sunbathing, there are Drones about!!
We had a really interesting Vocational visit to TAFE Food & Fibre Centre of Excellence last night. You will remember Will Dalgleish who talked to us about his trip to Samoa, well Will took us around and demonstrated a Drone and what it could do to help Farmers, taking photos (hence the warning) and transmitting back to a computer. Ag Science is very high tech, these days. What a great innovative industry for young people to get involved with. But the piece d’resistance was the Robotic Dog that Vet students use to learn how to work on animals, muscles, veins, arteries and even claws. It is kept under water and as Will pulled off the towel covering it I was very glad to see it didn’t have fur!! We then went to The Rising Sun and had a meal and lots of chat.
Don’t forget “Parma for the Farmer” night on Friday 31st at Bendigo Club Members who are up North on holiday comment that the Farmers are doing it really tough and need our help.
Next Tuesday the District Governor is visiting our Club with her husband Mark, lets make them really welcome. Wear your “End Polio” badge.
Book in your diary our Spanish Night on Sept 18th. This will be a joint Club meeting with Bendigo South.
